Hello there
My name is Ginger,
I grew up in the Wasatch Front, this particular section of the Rocky Mountains containing an inspiring variety of landscapes, from high, snowy mountain tops, to dry, hot Red Rock deserts, to oak-covered, trickling streams, and barren, angelic Salt Flats that stretch to the horizon. Surrounded on all sides by unique and breathtaking views, it’s almost impossible to not spend your days marveling at the masterpiece outside your front door, and attempting to capture that beauty in a satchel to peer at forever and ever. I’m continually trying to observe and reflect on that admiration, on our human interactions with the Nature around us and how we can keep some of that nature within us at all times, staying in-tune with its power. This is what inspires my art and many of the pieces you’ll find available in this shop.
I have pursued art my entire life, never able to settle on a single craft, but instead exploring every type of artistic expression that peaked my interest. I went to college for Fine Arts, emphasizing on relief printmaking, but actively trying to get my hands on as many disciplines as possible. I spent a lot of time with ceramics, oil painting, and figure drawing. Outside of school I focused on jewelry, sculpture, and photography, occasionally photographing a wedding or two. Trying to choose a single discipline to define myself is impossible.
Hence, Woolly Mountain Wares. A place where my creations are connected through shared inspiration and spirit, not shared material. A place that can be free and ever-evolving.
Woolly Mountain is run out of my home, solely by me, for the time being. I personally design, make, photograph, write about, advertise, sell, package, and ship everything in this shop. I try to update my Instagram and other socials with more detailed descriptions of my artistic processes, check them out if you’re interested, I believe in sharing knowledge and enabling other artists through my content. In the near future, I may incorporate works made by my lovely partner, who is a phenomenal artist, if he grants me the honor. I am so very excited to host this shop and share my creations with any kindred souls that stumble along my road of the internet. Welcome, and thanks for being here!
Questions, comments, suggestions, or want to chat? I’m all ears!
